ACER confirmed it will open a public consultation on 16 July 2026 on a new Annex to its Guideline on REMIT transaction reporting. The annex specifically targets energy derivative transactions: a segment where reporting definitions have remained a persistent source of industry uncertainty since REMIT II entered force.

The consultation is additive: it does not replace the core reporting guideline but layers in derivative-specific detail. Firms active in exchange-traded or OTC energy derivatives across EU bidding zones should assess whether current reporting workflows align with whatever granularity the draft annex proposes. ACER has not yet published the draft text; that lands on 16 July.

The timing sits alongside the European Commission's ongoing REMIT integrity and transparency work, flagged as active in September 2025. Together, the two workstreams signal a tightening of data requirements across both physical and financial energy market segments in the near term.
