Axpo seals 10-year vPPA with Flemish public sector for onshore wind

Axpo has agreed a 10-year virtual PPA with a Flemish energy agency to supply Belgian onshore wind power to six public organisations, per Renews.biz. The tenor and public-sector counterparty profile distinguish the deal: most Belgian vPPAs to date have been signed with corporate buyers, not regional government bodies.

In a separate transaction, TotalEnergies signed a PPA covering OPW's share of output from Walney 1 and 2 in the Irish Sea through 2030. The contract is tied to existing capacity rather than new build, locking in revenue on an operating asset for the remainder of this decade.

Taken together, the two deals illustrate the range of offtake structures active in northwest European wind right now: a long-duration synthetic structure in the Belgian zone and a shorter physical agreement on UK offshore capacity. Neither announcement disclosed a strike price.
