Baltic day-ahead prices fell 21% in early February, per Delfi reporting on Nord Pool figures. The decline covers all three zones (EE, LV, and LT) and represents one of the sharper month-on-month moves in the region since mid-2023.

The available data does not break out a single cause. Baltic spot prices are sensitive to wind output, hydro reservoir levels in the Nordic system, and interconnector flows from Finland and Poland. A combination of milder temperatures and above-average wind in the wider Nordic area has weighed on regional prices in recent weeks.

For Baltic asset managers and offtakers with floating-price exposure, the 21% move in a single month is material. Traders watching the LT-PL synchronisation corridor should note that softer Baltic prices reduce the incentive for southbound exports ahead of the 2025 desynchronisation deadline.
