CIS Tender 8 awards 16 GWh of standalone BESS in largest dispatchable round yet

CIS Tender 8 awarded 16 GWh of standalone BESS, making it the largest dispatchable round the scheme has run, according to Modo Energy. The result marks a step-change in volume from prior rounds and signals growing confidence from developers and offtakers in committing large-scale storage through capacity mechanisms.
Elsewhere in the GB market, ENGIE brought two Scottish battery assets online, adding 100 MW of flexibility to the system. Separately, Cero closed a refinancing on the 190 MW Larks Green hybrid (a solar and BESS portfolio), replacing earlier project finance with a new facility, per Renews.biz.
Taken together, the three announcements point to a busy week of BESS capital deployment in Great Britain: one major procurement result, one commissioning milestone, and one refinancing that recycles capital into the broader storage pipeline.
