Energinet has confirmed that the transition to 15-minute product resolution in the day-ahead market will not proceed on its original schedule. The new go-live date is 30 September 2025.

The shift to quarter-hour granularity is part of a broader European effort to align day-ahead market structures with intraday and balancing timeframes, reducing the gap between traded and physical imbalance intervals. A postponement of this scale gives market participants additional runway to adapt bidding systems, settlement logic, and portfolio tools, but it also defers the efficiency gains that finer resolution is expected to bring to zones with high variable-renewable penetration.

No reason for the delay was included in the Energinet notice as reported. Market participants should treat 30 September 2025 as the operative date until further notice from Energinet or ENTSO-E.
