EDF targets 10 small nuclear plants across Europe by 2035

EDF plans to build 10 small nuclear reactors across Europe by 2035, according to Reuters. The announcement is a concrete commercial timeline for SMR deployment at a scale that would affect capacity balances in multiple bidding zones if the projects progress to financial close.
The target of 10 plants in under a decade is ambitious given that no European SMR design has yet reached commercial operation.
