Encavis has entered the Italian battery storage market with a project at Ceprano rated at around 260 MWh, per Renews.biz. The Ceprano site is the developer's first BESS asset in the Italian zone.
Italy has seen accelerating grid-scale storage deployment, supported by strong spreads in the Mercato del Giorno Prima and ancillary-service revenues in the MSD. A 260 MWh facility positions Encavis to capture both day-ahead cycling revenue and capacity payments.
No commissioning date or technology supplier was disclosed in the source report. Further project details are expected as permitting and procurement progress.
