Energinet tightens grid connection rules to accelerate project queue

Energinet introduced new grid connection requirements, according to the Danish TSO. The rules apply to projects seeking to connect to the Danish electricity grid and are intended to accelerate progress through the connection queue by raising the bar for projects that have stalled or lack near-term delivery credibility.

Grid connection queues have become a bottleneck across European zones as wind and solar pipelines grew sharply.

Separately, EEX issued a data alert noting that wind and solar forecast and actual generation data on its Transparency platform have been missing since 4 September 2026. Analysts relying on EEX Transparency for Danish or broader European generation data should treat figures from that period as incomplete until EEX confirms the gap is resolved.
