Envision enters European offshore wind as Vestas unveils new onshore turbine

Envision is pushing into European wind on two fronts. The Chinese manufacturer landed a 131 MW turbine supply contract tied to AEP's North Macedonia project, which reached financial close, per Renews.biz. Separately, Recharge News reports Envision launched an offshore wind turbine targeting European markets, with the company arguing that concentrated supply chains are unhealthy for the sector.

Vestas countered with hardware news of its own at Hamburg 2026. The Danish OEM unveiled the V182-7.2MW as its largest onshore turbine and confirmed a first order for the model on an undisclosed Swedish project, per Renews.biz.

Elsewhere in onshore wind, OX2 handed over the 99.2 MW Green Breeze farm in Romania, marking commercial operation for the developer's first project in that market. Enercon and PNE announced a hybrid build: 98 MW of wind paired with 32 MW of battery storage. Purus also confirmed a service operation vessel charter with Siemens Gamesa, with the vessel set to support North Sea operations from early 2027.
