EU clears €5bn Danish state aid for offshore wind
Brussels approves Denmark's largest offshore wind support package, backing the country's 2030 expansion programme.

The European Commission greenlighted €5bn in Danish state aid for offshore wind on 6 April 2026, per Energy Live News. The approval covers Denmark's pipeline under its Offshore Wind 2030 programme, which Energinet has been preparing through a sequence of updated technical deliverables spanning Nordsøen I, Kriegers Flak II, Kattegat, and Hesselø South. The most recent revision, covering Hesselø South, was published in January 2026.
In Germany, Alterric secured all six of its submitted projects in the latest EEG onshore auction, adding 242 MW to its portfolio. That result, published 3 July 2026 by Renews.biz, marks a clean sweep across the round for the developer.
Belgian offshore ownership is shifting simultaneously. JERA Nex bp lifted its share in both Northwester 2 and Nobelwind, while Sumitomo confirmed it is selling its Northwind stake: two separate transactions closing in the same week, per Renews.biz.
