Euronext Nord Pool Power Futures became operational, according to EnergyWatch. The platform is a joint initiative between Euronext and Nord Pool and represents a new listed futures venue for European power markets alongside incumbents such as EEX.

The launch adds exchange-traded capacity for forward price discovery across Nordic and broader European bidding zones. Traders now have an additional venue for hedging power price exposure through standardised futures contracts.

No volume or open-interest figures were available at time of writing. Market uptake in the first sessions will be the key indicator of whether the platform draws liquidity away from existing venues or grows the overall listed market.
