FCR-N and FCR-D move to Nordic MMS on 14 April 2026

FCR-N and FCR-D will migrate to the Nordic Market Management System on 14 April 2026. Energinet published a call for testing today, giving market participants time to validate connectivity and order submission ahead of go-live. The MMS transition affects both the normal-range (FCR-N) and disturbance (FCR-D) products traded across the synchronous Nordic area.
The platform shift sits alongside a separate Energinet decision on FCR dimensioning in DK1. A new methodology, announced in November 2025, increases the volume of FCR procured in the DK1 bidding zone starting this year. Energinet has not published the revised MW figures in the available summaries, but the directional signal is higher reserve obligations for DK1 providers.
On mFRR, Energinet confirmed a revised timeline for Nordic connection to the MARI platform in November 2025. No new go-live date is available from the published headlines, but the delay extends the period in which Nordic mFRR capacity remains outside the pan-European balancing energy exchange. Participants active across FCR and mFRR in DK1 and DK2 should treat April 2026 as the nearest hard deadline requiring system readiness.
