Two parallel regulatory proposals for the German wind market emerged at Hamburg 2026. A trade association called for a structural overhaul of the EEG, centring its proposal on a temporary southern quota for onshore wind auctions. The intent is to redirect capacity awards toward southern Germany, where grid congestion and generation deficits are most acute.
On the offshore side, Chinese OEM Ming Yang welcomed measures contained in a draft revision to Germany's core offshore wind legislation, per Renews.biz. Together, the two proposals signal that industry pressure for EEG reform is building across both onshore and offshore segments simultaneously.
