Germany and Denmark agree joint development of Bornholm Energy Island

Germany and Denmark have signed a joint development agreement for the Bornholm Energy Island offshore wind project, according to the EU Commission's DG-ENER. The deal falls under the EU Energy Highways initiative, which facilitates cross-border coordination on large offshore wind infrastructure between member states.
Bornholm sits in the Baltic Sea and has long been identified as a hub candidate for interconnecting the German and Danish bidding zones. No capacity figure was published in the announcement, but the agreement marks a formal bilateral commitment to shared development rather than parallel national tracks.
In a separate development, Vestas secured a 65 MW order in Italy, per Renews.biz. The contract includes a 25-year AOM 5000 service agreement, extending Vestas's Italian service footprint alongside the equipment supply.
