Bundesnetzagentur confirmed high competition in Germany's onshore wind auction dated 1 August 2025. The agency has not yet released bid counts or awarded MW in the public notice, but the characterisation of 'high level of competition' is consistent with recent rounds where submitted capacity exceeded the tender volume by a factor of two or more. Clearing prices from prior 2025 rounds have remained close to the statutory cap.
On the project side, ENOVA commissioned 65 MW at Meppen: a repowering, meaning older turbines replaced with higher-capacity units on the same site. Separately, DNV certified a construction or design milestone for Nordseecluster A in the German North Sea, and ESB and Red Rock Power completed monopile installation at the Inch Cape offshore project off Scotland's east coast.
In Ireland, SSE filed updated plans for Arklow Bank 2, while European Energy sold an undisclosed Dutch onshore wind portfolio. Terms were not public in either case.
