Greenvolt and European Energy add BESS capacity in Poland and beyond

Greenvolt secured a UniCredit financing package for 400 MW of battery storage projects in Poland, per Renews.biz. The deal adds to a growing pipeline of BESS project finance transactions targeting Central and Eastern European zones, where grid flexibility demand is rising alongside renewable penetration.

Renews.biz reported that European Energy brought 167 MW/545 MWh of storage online during 2026. The commissioning adds meaningful capacity to the company's portfolio and reflects the accelerating pace of BESS build-out across European bidding zones this year.

Together, the two announcements show activity at both ends of the project lifecycle, a sign that both project finance structures and construction timelines are converging in the current market.
