Heerema completes 100-monopile Bałtyk 2 and 3 foundation campaign

Heerema's Thialf has wrapped the foundation campaign for Bałtyk 2 and 3 off Poland, setting down all 100 monopiles and 100 transition pieces, per Renews.biz. The completion clears the critical path for turbine installation on two of the Baltic's larger in-progress offshore projects.

On the UK onshore side, three signals point in the same direction. ESB reached FID on Chleansaid, a 96 MW Scottish project due online in 2028. UK onshore wind planning applications reached a decade high, according to Energy Live News. And RenewableUK, at its Onshore Wind 2026 conference, called for grid action to unlock what it described as an "enormous opportunity" across the zone.

Hornsea 3 turbine supply is also progressing: Siemens Gamesa confirmed blade production has started at its Hull facility, which employs more than 1,400 people. Separately, per Reuters, European nations have reaffirmed a 100 GW offshore wind pledge, reinforcing the policy backdrop for all projects currently in construction or development.
