Siemens Energy CEO Christian Bruch escalated his public pressure on Berlin, telling Renews.biz he is 'tired' of waiting for a resolution to the policy impasse blocking 16 GW of German offshore wind capacity. Bruch said the uncertainty is no longer a future risk: investment is being held back now.

The intervention comes at Hamburg 2026, where turbine makers are competing on next-generation hardware. Envision used the event to launch a European offshore unit rated at 16.7 MW, based on its Model Z platform. RWE's new offshore CEO, speaking separately to Recharge News, argued the industry should focus on optimising existing turbine architectures rather than chasing ever-larger ratings, a position that sits in tension with the scale race on display at the show.

On the M&A side, Lirion closed the acquisition of a 77 MW Irish onshore portfolio from GIP, according to Renews.biz. The deal takes Lirion's total portfolio to 200 MW and signals continued secondary-market activity in the Irish zone despite broader European permitting headwinds.
