Sowitec's 32GW onshore wind development portfolio is on the market after the German developer filed for insolvency in July, per Renews.biz. The scale of the portfolio makes this one of the larger distressed-asset situations the European wind development sector has seen. Buyer appetite will test how the market values early- and mid-stage pipeline in the current permitting and financing environment.
Elsewhere in UK onshore wind, Low Carbon filed a planning application for the 86MW Forsinain Forest project in Highland, Scotland. The scheme could accommodate up to 12 turbines. No commissioning timeline has been published.
In Germany, Perigus Energy acquired the Olpe Rehringhausen project from ABO Energy. The approved scheme comprises three 7MW turbines, adding 21MW of consented capacity to Perigus's portfolio.
