TenneT has issued a warning on Dutch energy security risks, per Renews.biz, with grid congestion the central concern. The Netherlands has faced persistent transmission bottlenecks that have delayed renewable connections and constrained industrial offtake. TenneT's public flagging signals the TSO views the situation as systemic rather than localised.
Elsewhere in grid infrastructure, Elia Transmission Belgium locked in a €650 million green credit facility from the European Investment Bank for the Princess Elisabeth Island project. The artificial energy island off the Belgian coast is designed to serve as a hub for North Sea offshore wind, with the EIB facility providing long-term financing for its construction.
In Spain, Red Eléctrica Chairwoman Beatriz Corredor met with Navarra President María Chivite to review transmission investments in the region. The Navarra government pressed for accelerated grid expansion to support the region's industrial decarbonisation push, with Red Eléctrica citing active projects under the current national planning framework. In GB, NESO confirmed it has hit the Gate 2 grid offers milestone, a key checkpoint in the reformed connections process aimed at clearing the queue backlog.
