TotalEnergies filed a development application for the Centre Manche offshore wind project on 28 May, according to Renews.biz. The site targets 1.5GW in the English Channel, a capacity level that, if consented and built, would materially exceed any French offshore wind farm currently in operation.
France has struggled to translate its offshore ambitions into commissioned capacity, with permitting delays a persistent bottleneck. A filed application does not guarantee approval, but the submission signals TotalEnergies is moving the project into the formal regulatory pipeline. No timeline to final investment decision was reported.
Separately, Vestas confirmed two onshore turbine contracts in Germany totalling 88MW, per Renews.biz. Germany remains the most active European onshore market by installed base, and the pair of awards adds to Vestas's visible order backlog in the region. Turbine model and delivery schedule were not disclosed in the headline.
