The UK's 2029/30 T-4 Capacity Market auction has cleared at £27/kW/yr, according to Modo Energy. The T-4 round is the main procurement mechanism for securing dispatchable and flexible capacity four years ahead of delivery, making the clearing price a key reference for asset owners and financiers sizing new-build business cases.
The £27/kW/yr outcome sits below the £65/kW/yr cap set by National Grid ESO for the auction. No further volume or technology breakdown was available from the headline data at time of writing; a full de-rated MW stack will follow in the official results publication.
For context, the 2028/29 T-4 auction cleared at £19/kW/yr in February 2024, meaning this round came in roughly £8/kW/yr higher. The move will affect capacity revenue assumptions across the GB battery, gas peaker, and demand-side response pipeline.
