WindEurope installs new leadership as Europe tracks record 24 GW in 2026
Ørsted CEO Rasmus Errboe takes the chair as the industry aims to lock in a record installation year.

WindEurope elected Ørsted CEO Rasmus Errboe as its new Chair and Enel Green Power CEO Salvatore Bernabei as Vice-Chair. Their 18-month tenure begins immediately. WindEurope put the 2026 European installation target at a record 24 GW, framing the leadership change as a push to convert a strong year into structural momentum rather than a one-off peak.
On the M&A side, Econergy closed the acquisition of Escofi's French wind platform for €134.3 million. The deal adds 128 MW of operating capacity and a broader 740 MW development pipeline, giving the company a material onshore position in France.
Elsewhere, Nordex confirmed a 91 MW order from TEUT Energieprojekte for the Schönermark-Passow site in Brandenburg, using N163 turbines. In Scotland, Nadara won repowering approval for Beinn Ghlas and confirmed plans to upgrade a second site in England, per Renews.biz. EDF completed turbine installation at Stranoch, with electrical works now underway ahead of a 2027 commissioning target.
